Skin Tightening

As we age we lose volume in our face, primarily fat. As a result skin can hang down as gravity acts on it creating droopiness, wrinkles and bands. This can be thought of as excess skin and is similar in concept to a dress that becomes too large as its owner loses weight. In cases where you have a significant amount of this loose skin, you may find no other solution than plastic surgery (e.g. facelift, body lift, arm lift, etc.) because the underlying muscles need to be addressed and repositioned.

Over the last several years, one focus of aesthetic medical technology has been on a means for improving fine wrinkles and lines on the face without prolonged 'downtime'. This is often referred to as non-invasive collagen remodeling.

This has traditionally been accomplished with laser peels (carbon dioxide, erbium) or deep chemical peels (phenol, high-concentration TCA), which resurface the skin by creating a second-degree burn. The epidermis is essentially burned through and the dermis is injured, stimulating new collagen production. The problems with these aggressive peels are the following:

• an open, weeping facial wound (like a burn which has blistered) for several days, followed by crusting/scabbing

• a great deal of discomfort and itching

• a prolonged period (frequently several months) of erythema (facial redness) which must be concealed with make-up

• the possibility of hypo- or hyperpigmentation due to melanocyte injury or overstimulation

• a line of 'demarcation' between peeled and non-peeled skin

• the risk of scarring if the level of the peel is too deep

• the possibility of a 'waxy' or 'shiny' skin appearance with deep or repeated peels

Anti Wrinkle

Key objectives of bio gerontology are to understand the biology of aging and to translate scientific insight into interventions that improve late-life health - or anti-wrinkle treatments. In this context, when considering the problem of how to effect translational research, it is useful to have a clear, consensus view on what exactly constitutes an anti- wrinkle treatment. This essay critically assesses the understanding of this concept common among bio gerontologists, and proposes a new definition. A current conception of anti- wrinkle treatment imagines a primary cause of aging that is causally upstream of, and the cause of, all age-related pathology. Intervening in this aging process thus protects against the totality of age-related diseases. However, this underlying aging process remains an abstraction. By contrast, what is demonstrable is that interventions in model organisms can improve late-life health and extend lifespan. Furthermore, a safe deduction is that treatments that extend lifespan do so by reducing age-related pathology, both florid and subtle. What is currently identifiable about aging (i.e. senescence) is that it is a very complex disease syndrome, likely involving a number of biological mechanisms. Treatments that substantially extend lifespan must suppress multiple pathologies that otherwise limit lifespan, but whether they suppress the entire aging process remains undemonstrated. A more pragmatic and realistic definition of anti- wrinkle treatment is any preventative approach to reduce late-life pathology, based on the understanding that senescence is a disease syndrome. This definition would encompass preventative approaches aimed at both broad and narrow spectra of age-related pathologies. Its adoption would facilitate translation, since it would shift the emphasis to medical practice, particularly the introduction of preventative approaches. Narrow spectrum anti- wrinkle treatments (e.g. the cardiovascular polyp ill) could establish a practice that eventually extends to broader spectrum anti- wrinkle treatments (e.g. dietary restriction mimetic).

Chemical Peel

Chemical peels can improve the skin's appearance. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which makes it "blister" and eventually peel off. The new skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin.
  • Reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth
  • Treat wrinkles caused by sun damage and aging
  • Improve the appearance of mild scars
  • Treat certain types of acne
  • Reduce age spots, freckles, and dark patches (melasma) due to pregnancy or taking birth control pills
  • Improve the look and feel of skin

Cheeks & Chin Augmentation

The appearance of the face is determined by three basic components: skin, fat and underlying facial bones.\Defined facial features, visible contours and proportionate natural angles that are, all create a structural balance in your face. This adds to an attractive appearance. If the structure of your face doesn't have the right proportions - the chin is recessed, the jaw undefined or cheeks are flat. It can significantly affect your self-image.
If you are bothered by a small chin, weak jaw or lack of facial contour, a chin or cheek augmentation with facial implants may benefit you. While any area of your face can be augmented with implants, the cheekbones, chin and jaw are the most common sites for facial implants. Please read FAQ's for more information

How is Chin and Cheek augmentation done?
There are two techniques for adding prominence and contour to the chin. One, performed through an incision inside the mouth, requires moving the chinbone. A more common approach involves insertion of a chin implant. The implant is inserted through incisions inside the mouth or on the underside of the chin. If the incision is inside the mouth, it is closed with sutures (stitches) that later dissolve. If the incision is under the chin, surgery usually leaves only a faint scar that is barely visible underneath the chin. This procedure may take between one or one and a half hour.

Cheek implant surgery usually takes about one and half hour. When cheek implants are being placed in conjunction with another cosmetic procedure, such as a facelift, forehead lift or eyelid surgery, the implants may be inserted through the incisions made for those procedures. Otherwise, an incision will be made either inside the upper lip or lower eyelid. A pocket is then formed and an implant is inserted.

The treatment is done with the help of very small needles and feels like a small prick. The entire procedure takes about 15 minutes. There is no recovery time and patients can return to work or other activities immediately. The results are visible in 1-2 weeks. Nose Job

A nose job (technically called a rhinoplasty) is surgery on the nose to change its shape or improve its function. It can be done for medical reasons -- such as to correct breathing problems related to the nose or correct disfigurement resulting from trauma or birth defects. It can also be done for cosmetic reasons, which will change the nose's shape and appearance. Deciding on a Nose Job If you are thinking about getting a nose job, set up an appointment with your surgeon to discuss it.

During that meeting, talk about your goals and tell the doctor what bothers you about your nose and how you would like to change it. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a perfect nose. Surgery, though, can enhance facial features and emphasize your unique and natural beauty. A plastic surgeon can describe the facial features that make you unique and tell you how changes would enhance your appearance. The surgeon will evaluate the structures of your nose and other facial features. After this evaluation, he or she can tell you if your expectations are realistic.

The surgeon will also consider your overall health and should discuss with you the risks, recovery time, and costs involved. There are various techniques for reshaping the nose. Once you decide to go ahead, your surgeon should describe exactly what he or she proposes to do. If you have health insurance, make sure you talk to your insurer in advance so you know what's covered and what you will need to pay for. Health insurance typically does not pay for procedures that are done only for cosmetic reasons.

Lip Job

Lip augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can give you fuller, plumper lips.

These days, an injectable dermal filler is the most commonly used method of lip augmentation.

There are many types of dermal fillers that can be injected in your lips and around your mouth. But the most common fillers today are products that contain substances similar to hyaluronic acid.Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body. It helps increase volume in your lips.

These types of dermal fillers are sometimes called "hyaluronic acid fillers."

Collagen, once the most common dermal filler, is used less often today. The newer options are safer and the effects last longer.

Fat injections and implants are other methods to plump lips. But they aren't used as much today because the results vary and there is a greater risk of side effects.

Uses of Hyaluronic Acid Fillers Hyaluronic acid fillers can improve the appearance of your lips by adding:

• Shape

• Structure

• Volume

The effects typically last around six months. After that more injections are needed to keep the volume of your lips

Laser Hair Remove

If you're not happy with shaving, tweezing, or waxing to remove unwanted hair, laser hair removal may be an option worth considering.

Laser hair removal is one of the most commonly done cosmetic procedures in the U.S. It beams highly concentrated light into hair follicles. Pigment in the follicles absorb the light. That destroys the hair.

Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas.

Benefits of laser hair removal include:

Precision. Lasers can selectively target dark, coarse hairs while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged.
